Southwest Medical Group Plastic Surgery helps a lot of women reach their desired breast image. For that reason our patients have a lot of bras that they can no longer use. From that came The Gift of Lift charitable program.
The Gift of Lift bra donation program allows for our patients and the community to donate their slightly used bras or new bras to a good cause, the women of Haiti. Every year plastic surgeon Dr. Allen Gabriel goes to Haiti to provide medical care. This year he wants to take bras along with his medical supplies. A simple bra can make a difference in any woman's life and bring smiles to the amazing women of Haiti.
Since we have received an overwhelming response from the community we are extending this offer beyond Haiti. Through this campaign we have found out about other areas where women are in need of a simple bra, such as a women’s shelter in India. This shelter is for women who were in the slave trade. A PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center employee will be going to this shelter in February to help these women get the support they need to get back into society.
